Dreamhack, the world's greatest LAN party, is coming up soon and Gamingeye will be there with 10 000 other visitors. Gamingeye Female told you earlier about our tournaments which will be arranged at Dreamhack Winter 2006. We have published our ideas and thoughts, through e-mail to some and through news posts for the rest of you. We are hoping that as many as possible are interested in attending. Here you have some more information.

Gamingeye Female

The 30th of November a lot of people will come and visit Dreamhack Winter 06, as always arranged in Jönköping, Sweden. During three full days and nights we will be there to arrange tournaments for women in Counter-Strike, write news and report to every soul outside the event about what's going on inside. Gamingeye Female is 100% focused on a new project though, the female international tournaments (2on2 and 5on5). Ariez, ArreliuS, Trixy, Xiph, Yllet and Vilda will be representing Gamingeye Female in Jönköping. To find us send an e-mail to Female@Gamingeye.com or send a pm to any of us in our mIRC channel #female.gamingeye at quakenet.

When, where and how?

Our 2on2 tournament is going to start at Friday 1/12. It will be played with double elimination which means that during the matches, a team will get a second chance after the first loss. We want your application for this tournament at the latest Thursday 30/12 at 20.00 CET. The only requirement for this tournament is that you both should be girls. We don't care if you are from the same or different teams or if you already have signed up for another tournament. You don't even have to be an active Counter-Strike player. This tournament is all about having fun.

Gamingeye Female's 5on5 tournament is on Saturday morning 2/12. Exact time we unfortunately don’t know yet but we’re working on it. To be able to make a schedule before Dreamhack we also had to set a maximum of teams to 12 teams. So if you and your team are interested please send us an e-mail with an application as soon as can to be sure to have a spot in the tournament, there are only one more spot to fill. We want your application at the latest Thursday 30/12 at 20.00 CET. The schedules for the 5on5 tournament will be announced as soon as possible. Thanks to our sponsor Telia, we got some really nice tournament computers that are built with the latest cutting edge technology. This will guarantee a great gaming experience.

Who can attend?

All female squads that have a full lineup with at least five players are welcome to sign up for the 5on5 tournament. The demands for a participation in all of our tournaments are of course an entrance ticket to the event and a confirmation e-mail from the team leader. The confirmation e-mail will be sent out to all the teams before the event.

Prizes?

Thanks to our sponsor Telia we can guarantee a total prize sum of 25.000SEK. Telia will also help us with computers and TFT screens built with the latest technology available. Prize money for the Gamingeye Female Tournament presented by Telia - 5on5:
/ First place: 17 000 SEK
Second place: 5 000 SEK
Third place: 3 000 SEK

In the 2on2 tournament we are not sure about the prizes yet, but we are working at finding prizes for the top three teams.

Special offers

As always, every visitor has access to the main sleeping hall at Dreamhack. But for those who do not want to sleep there, we recommend Scandic Hotel, very close to Elmia, where you can spend your time sleeping for a decent amount of money. During the event the hotel will have several special offers for Dreamhack visitors, and to have access to those offers you will have to give them a special code, "Dreamhack December", when checking in.

The accommodation costs are:

There is a huge and nice breakfast buffet each day included in the price. If you want to stay at Scandic this weekend we recommend you to reserve your room as soon as possible. Usually the rooms get booked rather fast. You can make a reservation by calling +4636 585 46 10, or send an e-mail to elmia@scandic-hotels.com.

There is a new special offer for those of you who come from another country than Sweden. As a foreigner you pay full price for a Dreamhack ticket, but will get 250 SEK back when entering Elmia and Dreamhack. "All visitors who bought a computer spot can in the entrence show their passport and a ticket or a receipt from the journey to Sweden and get a 250 SEK(~27 Euro) reimbursement taken from the ticket cost.

The offer is only to be used once for each person and only for those who have a computer spot at Dreamhack. To get your money back you have to show your valid passport before your bond is placed on your wrist. You can not get a payment in advance or afterwards. "

Tickets and information

The release of the tickets to Dreamhack will be on the 12th of October at 8 PM (CET). To be able to buy tickets you have to be a registered user at Dreamhack's ticket page. Approximately an hour before the release of the tickets the system will be shut down. The reason for this is only about everyone getting the same chance to get a ticket. Observe that this date of release and reservation is only for those who are reiterated members in Svenska spelförbundet. Others will have to wait another week. A membership in Svenska spelförbundet is totally free and can be activated here. A computer seat-ticket to Dreamhack costs 690 SEK. Upon your booking they will charge you for another 30 SEK per order. For that price you will get:
